The Witcher 3 – How to Repair Weapons and Armor

repair-weapons-witcher-3

Weapons in The Witcher 3 have a finite amount of usage before they need to be repaired.  However, it’s not quite clear where or how to repair them without stumbling into it.  What you’ll find is that your weapons suddenly don’t work as well as they once did and their damage output will be reduced as a result.

You’ll want to look out for a couple of different things to make sure that you don’t let your weapons degrade too far.  First on main screen you’ll want to look on the left hand side which shows a silhouette of your character and two swords.  If one or both of the swords are red, you’ll want to consider either switching to another weapon in your inventory or repairing that weapon.

You can also see the amount of repair that a weapon needs by heading into the Inventory menu and inspecting your weapons and armor tab.  Any weapon that is below 50% will have a red hammer on the weapon picture.

To repair those weapons you need to do one of two things.

Repair Weapons and Armor at a Merchant Armorer or Quartermaster

To repair your weapons head to a Quartermaster at the Nilfgaardian Garrison in White Orchard or the Armorer at the Baron’s Castle in Velen and then either ask them to craft something for you or browse their wares.  In the menus that open you will be able to tab through different options.  The one you are looking for is to repair your weapons.  You can choose to repair weapons individually or to repair all of your weapons together.  This will cost you varying amounts of crowns depending on how badly damaged the weapon is.

Repair Weapons and Armor using a Repair Kit

Repair Kits can be found through looting and completing objectives.  Make sure to loot any bigger treasure chests to find Repair Kits from time to time.
