Back 4 Blood: How to Unlock All Characters

Back-4-Blood-All-Characters

Back 4 Blood starts players off with only half of the playable cast. You can only start off as Evangelo, Walker, Holly, and Mom. Luckily, the other four are unlockable early on in-game. Here is how to get them.

How to unlock all characters in Back 4 Blood

To unlock Hoffman, Doc, Karlee, and Jim, you’ll have to beat the first part of Act One in its entirety. There are four missions that lead up to this that you’ll have to complete to get there. Complete Resurgence, Tunnel of Blood, Pain Train, and the notorious The Crossing mission.

Upon completing these missions categorized under “The Devil’s Return”, you’ll witness the cutscene where the other four are introduced, similar to how you saw the starting four. Unfortunately, you cannot change characters upon seeing their intros since this game locks you into your role for that particular run.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You cannot play on the Solo Campaign mode and unlock the characters.

Instead, to play as the other four Cleaners, you’ll have to start a new run. The good part is you do not have to reset your progress from the last run.

Back-4-Blood-Hoffman

Hoffman is a good pick when it comes to managing your ammo economy. His passive is one of the most versatile in the game, making him almost a staple pick.

Doc is really good when it comes to dealing with the really annoying trauma damage you take throughout this game. She’s right up there being as useful as Mom in tough situations.

Jim is the sniper class. He excels in precision and exploiting the weaknesses of enemy weak spots. He might be one of the better characters when it comes to dealing with the heavies.

Finally, Karlee is like an intel class. She can sense hazards and mutations so whoever is using her can warn other team mates of possible traps and grabs. She also speeds up team use speed, which can be helpful for healing and other items in the heat of battle.

Back 4 Blood is out now in early access for Ultimate Edition purchasers. The game will be out for everyone else on October 12, 2021. You can get this game on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series S/X, and PC via Steam and Epic Games.
