There are many new things that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate adds to the series, one of which is the new single-player story mode World of Light. There are plenty of other modes to partake of in the game as well, but for those who want to jump right into the main campaign, here’s how to do it.

When you first start up Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, an opening cinematic will play which you can watch or skip by pressing any button. After the cinematic, you’ll be brought to the main title screen, which will instruct you to press any button to continue. Do so, and you’ll be brought to the game’s main menu. From here, go to the green option in the bottom left of the screen entitled “Spirits.” Now that you’re in the Spirits menu, new menu options will be available to you. Select the largest option called “Adventure.” Selecting this option will start your World of Light playthrough. Once you get started, various tutorials in the game will teach you the various mechanics of this adventure mode.

Playing through World of Light will be one of the main ways you can unlock new playable characters, as well as finding new Spirits that you can use within Spirits mode to strengthen your characters. If you’re having trouble exiting World of Light and returning to the rest of the game, click here.
